I started riding at the age of eight. Growing up I was a member of the Belvoir Hunt Pony Club representing them on numerous occasions at the Championships as well as passing the A Test with Honours.
While at university I was a member of Team GB at the World University Equestrian Championships in Tokyo as well as competing at, or officiating at, many student Nations Cup and World Championships around the world from New York to Paris.
After graduation, I built up a string of event and dressage horses competing at Advanced and Advanced Medium levels respectively before deciding that an office life was calling but I never let go of the horses.
Today I work part-time as a business growth consultant and part-time as a veterinary physiotherapist, alongside competing my horse Dernahatten Wonder at CCI3* level and producing young horses.

Costs
Initial assessment and treatment £60
Includes full history of the horse to be taken, conformation assessment, locomotion assessment, hands on assessment, treatment and aftercare advice. Please allow around one hour for an initial assessment and treatment, although the treatment time for each horse as an individual sometimes takes longer.
Follow up treatment - £55
Includes update on any recent history, hands on assessment, treatment and aftercare advice.
Please allow around 45 minutes for follow up treatment, although the treatment time will be appropriate for each horse and may take longer.
Prices include travel within a 20 mile radius. If your horse hasn't been seen by me for a period of six months, an appointment will treated as an initial assessment.
The visit will include thorough assessment incorporating medical history, lifestyle, activities, static positioning, dynamic movement, muscle palpation and range of motion evaluation. On performing an initial assessment, where treatment is not deemed appropriate, for example where your horse needs to be referred to your vet, at my discretion, the fee may be reduced to a call-out only fee at £25.
Areas covered
I work throughout the East Midlands, generally covering an area within 25 miles, or a maximum 40 minute journey time, from LE14 4QW.
Travel costs may apply depending on your location. There is no charge for travel to locations within 25 mile radius of LE14 4QW but a charge of 65p per mile thereafter may be chargeable, depending on whether I have other bookings in your area on the same day. I will try to group bookings in the same area to reduce travel costs where possible.
Disclosure
It is illegal for any person to treat an animal unless they are a veterinary surgeon or a “paraprofessional” covered by the Veterinary Surgery (Exemptions) Order 2015. I am classed as a paraprofessional under this Order.
I am a qualified and insured veterinary physiotherapist. I am not a veterinary surgeon. Guidance from the RCVS stresses that musculoskeletal paraprofessionals are part of the vet-led team, and that any animal, including healthy ones, should be registered with a veterinary surgeon.
Maintenance treatment may take place without specific veterinary referral, however, I will recommend that a horse is seen by a vet if this is appropriate and/or if the conditions found are outside of my professional field.
I will ask for confirmation that you are registered with a vet. If you are seeking treatment for anything other than maintenance, e.g. for a specific issue or concern, I will require a referral from your vet and I reserve the right to refer back to your vet if there are concerns about underlying health issues.
